Calli Clay and AyDy Burling: Then and Now
I was searching for a way to break into
tech that would challenge me prepare me
well and position me to be marketable
all without breaking the bank or time
constraints of being a working adult
that was important to me as i had a
mortgage and other bills to support
other boot camps or traditional
university programs require either a
large monetary investment or a
significant amount of time to do the same
there were several steps to the
interview process there was like a
single interview group interview group
project self-guided project is
abundantly clear that the dev 10 that
dev10 cared about how well i would
succeed in their program and ultimately
in a tech role before deciding to hire me
that being said this not mean i had any
coding knowledge i had little to none
when I entered the program and I
appreciated that
some other programs would take anyone
they can as they can make money up front
either way i really felt like my skills
and my aptitude were assessed for success
the instructors were absolute rock stars
they took the time sometimes like late
at night to make sure we had all of our
questions answered i specifically stayed
up many late nights with my instructor
they were skilled in tech good at
training and adapted their teaching to
each trainee I felt challenged every single day
i mean including on weekends when I had
a big project to work on uh it was truly
immersive and i felt i was exposed to a
multitude of work environments that
ultimately led me to be successful in my
current consultant role
